While it is debatable whether query against MappedSuperClass to be supported or not (JPA spec says no), but OpenJPA document claims otherwise.
1. Decide on the feature
2. Given that OpenJPA document claims support, most likely the feature was implemented. Investigate whether it a regression across release or a pure documentation bug.
