      Description

This is the umbrella main task for the jackrabbit integration.

If you need any assistance, have feature request(s), found a bug or have an idea for a better design you can post your comment here.

For future development I suggest to follow these constraints:

      • Bugs and small changes can directly be fixed in the trunk, but should also be merged into the branch.
      • New features, integration in other parts of Ofbiz etc. should be first developed in the JCR branch. After they are tested we'll merge them back into the trunk.

Will somebody want to put some effort in this subject in the future?

Else I will close because of Cato©

Cato is a commercial product and it has nothing to do with this issue.

Yes, it's just that I was the initiator of this effort.

It might be confuse but let me try explain. After we improved the old calendar (OFBIZ-1825), Sascha, asked me for a new task. I then suggested a layered calendar, then we continued on the layered lookups effort, mostly done with Ankit and Atul. After that Sascha asked me for another major task to do, I suggested to integrate Jackrabbit. I was then planning to help him on this. Finally Cato is now there (Cato mixes OFBiz and Magnolia which is itself based on Jackrabbit), and I'm also a close partner of ilsicpio. So I will rather put efforts in Cato than the Jackrabbit integration in OFBiz.

Long story short: I believe I will finally not commit any efforts in the Jackrabbit integration, at least in a conceivable future. But I feel a bit culprit, because it was initially my idea .

Apart Sascha, nobody invested in this. So my comment was more to get a feedback about who is or would be interested in the Jackrabbit integration, thanks for yours. I agree that closing is maybe not a good idea. It's just that I wonder if the jackrabbit20120501 branch will be maintained. I gave it a try, it's still doable but I wonder if it's worth the effort...

There are 2 Jackrabbit branches (jackrabbit20100709 and jackrabbit20120501).
In the first there are some elements incorporated in example that don't show up in the second. Maybe it would be wise to migrate the stuff that is in the first to the second and close the older one.

OK, I made my best here, but I definitively give up. At r1553099 I made the jackrabbit20100709 load-demo & start, by

          • removing securityext/da&test
          • fixed jcr/build.xml (jetty is now in specialpurpose)
          • Added lost example which was in jackrabbit20100709 (not sure it's a good idea to keep it there)

But the menu Jackrabbit example does not show, nor the chart one BTW (the later still shows and works in R11.04).

I also noticed that in all versions the geolocation example no longer works. I remember a lilcense issue with Google Map, but I wonder why openStreetMap does not work. I will have a look at that later, but for this branch I'm done.
