Description

Jay had some good refactoring suggestions as part of the review for KAFKA-46. I'd like to file this umbrella JIRA with individual sub tasks to cover those suggestions

• Refactor getter and setter API to conform to the new convention: Resolved
• Move high watermark maintenance logic out of Log: Resolved
• Create a generic Kafka thread class that includes basic boiler plate code of instantiating and shutting down threads cleanly: Closed
• Refactor zookeeper code in KafkaZookeeper into reusable components: Resolved
• remove errorcode from ByteBufferMessageSet: Closed
