Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 85255
ctrl-end transers cursor into footer instead end of body text
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:44:35 UTC
There is something about the document http://i1.dk/misc/ctrl_end.doc that changes the behaviour of ctrl-end. Normally ctrl-end would go to the end of the document, but with this document ctrl-end moves the focus to the footer on the current or previous page. There is no macro that does this. Removing the footer though Format|Page|Footer changes the behaviour of ctrl-end: then it does absolutely nothing. Exact version is 2.3.0, build 2.3.0.1.3 (what ships with OpenSuSE 10.3)

MRU->FME: see attached document, in this, the cursor will be placed in the footer of the last page instead at the end of the body text, when using Ctrl-End.
fme: The last paragraph of the document if set to hidden. Enabling "show non-printable characters" 'resolves' the problem.
I noticed the same behaviour under OOO 3.1.1 OOO310m19 (Build 9420) and OOO 3.2.0 DEV300m55 (Build:9418), see the attached document "Ctrl_End_Test.odt". Hitting Ctrl + End does not move the cursor to the end of the document but to the footer area on some page (p. 11, in my case). Showing non-printable characters does not help, removing the footer area does, however. Ctrl + Home always works as expected. I have a similar problem with the XTextRange method gotoEnd() that a macro calls to move a text cursor to the doc end. The cursor only jumps to the end of the current line (or paragraph?) however. I have attached the macro document under issue 105196.

Created attachment 80004 [details] another sample document: control_end.odt Bug is still present with AOO 3.4.1.
