Description zenyatta 2008-01-11 08:01:55 UTC
We're using openoffice in a 200 clients business environment; we've to
substitute the last and most specialized excel clients installations that uses
heavily the pivot feature.

Datapilot , compared to the same pivot table, takes 10 mins against few seconds
of excel ; we've tried using the sheet as a base datasource with no results.

In this way we must buy again other excel licenses..... ;(, cause there aren't
alternatives.....

Can you post a test document that demonstrates the slowness? Without that, we
won't even know where to start looking.

Generally, one can detect, that DataPilot is extra slow when the result contains
a big number of columns and/or rows. Whereas, performance is not very much
dependant on the size of the data source.

Hi all,
I'm reassigning this issue to sc@, test@ is not the good owner.
We have made some tests with 3.0 and the performance issue is still confirmed.
Kind regards - Sophie

In general, the performance of datapilot depends largely on the number of unique
field members, not necessarily on the size of the source data. Just FYI...
