I've encountered this twice: while working with a document containing dozens of
pages with about a dozen graphics (inserted as GDI graphic), sometimes all the
graphics are automatically removed. I don't know if they are removed when the
file is loaded or when the file is saved. Sometimes I see that openoffice
displaying something like "error displaying graphic" with a power plug image in
the place of those graphics. This may serve as a hint to help you identify the
problem.

As this is not reproducible, I am not hoping that you can fix it. But it is a
serious issue because it corrupts files, so I'd like to at least alert you.
