Description christian.guenther 2007-03-22 20:45:36 UTC
- start an Impress
- change to the slide master
- insert an object
- assign an custom Animation to the object (you don't see the preview of the
custom animation)
- start the presentation -> you see the object but without a custom animation.

Similar to issue 57050?
Comment 2 clippka 2007-04-11 14:58:13 UTC
No, issue 57050 is about inheriting animations set on placeholder shapes on the
master (f.e. title area) to the corresponding presentation shapes on the slide.

This issue is about animated shapes on the master slide.

This is a serious issue. Not being able to animate objects on the Master is a
big deal when coming from PowerPoint. Impress let's you go through all the
motions with objects on the Master but then leaves you hanging. The custom
animation you add to an object simply does NOT work. I feel this is a bug.
Custom animation options shoudl not function if this is not allowed on Masters.
Deactivating the Cutom animation option on Masters would save some frustration
but getting them to work would truly solve the problem. I'm working with my
company users to make the switch to Impress and this bug leaves PowerPoint with
the upper hand.

Was finally ready to try to embrace OOo but this one leaves me cold. Use
presentations weekly and need to have animation. Can not take the time to animate
each slide's text individually. Just bought a new Win7 machine and was SO hoping
to not have to buy new MS Office. This feature is important enough to spend the
money for MS PP.

duplicate to issue 57050, issue 73090 is about propagating animations from
placeholders. Anyway we do not need three issues for two problems.
