Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 30030
problem with insert external data source
Last modified: 2004-06-10 09:19:42 UTC
I've been asked by a friend to make mailing labels from a text file, the text file is in the format "NAME","ADDRESS","CITY","STATE","ZIP","ZIP4" easy enough, so I try to put them in an openoffice spreadsheet from which I'll make a report to print them on mailing labels. The process goes like this: OO Spread Sheet Insert -> External Data choose file with browser from external data dialog find file, select insert adjust delimiter character in text import dialog see correctly parsed preview, select ok external data dialog shows url of local file ok button does not work only the help and cancel buttons work, and the help says nothing more than above. Package: openoffice.org-bin Version: 1.0.3-1woody2 Am I missing something or does this package not read data sources? But first I upgraded per suggestion on another list, to 1.1.2rc3 Even with the new version, "Insert -> External Data" seems like it should work, proper dialogs etc, but the final "Ok" is not an option. :-\ I discovered I could "Insert -> Sheet" and was a little easier than open "Text CSV" because I didn't have to search for "Text CSV" in all the file types...
Please have a look at issue 1834. I think yours is duplicate to that.
Hi, this is in fact a double to Issue 1834. So I close it. Frank *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 1834 ***
