Description

Since there is API to use records.config, consider whether plugins should use configuration from there instead of from the plugins. This makes configuration more consistent though you would not get per-plugin instance variables. There are a few a cases where we might be able to remove a plugin-specific config file.

Note that this doesn't solve per-remap configuration, which is pretty essential.
