Major Description
We've long resisted adding deeper support for sessions, but without fresh ideas as to the how to do the things sessions allow (e.g. remote transactions) it seems best to just implement this feature and bring consistency to session. As part of this change it will be necessary to support tx() so that users can commit/rollback their changes. For this ticket, the focus will be on adding support with Java, but we will need to have other tickets for the other language variants once this one is done.
