Description

An Functional Mockup Unit (FMU) is a software component used for exchanging and simulating dynamic system models. It is designed to enable simulations of system models regardless of the simulation tool, programming language, or hardware platform. This is made possible through a standard interface that allows FMUs to be exported and imported across different simulation environments.

The FMU media type ships with the .fmu file suffix

I think the MIT licensed NTNU-IHB/FMI4j can be used as the underlying parser implementation.

I will go on the hunt for some sample files we can use in unit tests. I think we can make some available via https://github.com/Open-MBEE/perseverance-modelica
