Description
FOR RPM PACKAGES.... Since the subversion database format is likely to evolve, it would be helpful if RPM packages did not overwrite the old svnadmin binaries (which are the only reliable way to salvage old format svn repositories). Could the old subversion svnadmin binaries be saved (by the RPM packager) as svnadmin.rpmsave, or better yet, svnadmin.format0_VERSIONNUMBER? Conventionally, this issue may seem unimportant... we all work with only one or two svn repositories... right? Unconventionally, I am already using svn to administer version tracking for a quickly growing base of users (on a quickly growing base of machines...of different versions and installations). Regardless of priority, I think this would be a widely convenient enhancement for many people. (It makes it a little more of a vanilla-experience as opposed to a mind-expansion experience.)
