Description

Currently if I choose to filter something out, it gets removed entirely.
What I would like is to filter out just the data (truncating the contents to 
some value, maybe 0) but preserve the information that the file was there.

The motivation is that I have a repository that has had a total of 250MB zipped 
release builds committed over some period in the past. I want to remove that 
ballast but I need to leave in the fact that those files were there.
