We have contacted with the responsible person for this library (JAWS) and got full permission from him via e-mail. What is the formal procedure to be able to apply the licence issues? How shall we proceed?

By the way, we have removed that bundle completely and moved the JAWS library into the Wordnet related bundle, as discussed in STANBOL-440.

Can you then please update STANBOL-440. I still see the JAWS files in my source tree.

Did the responsible person for JAWS said anything about the license? It is enough if we can state in a README that this lib has some license that is compatible with Apache license.

Since I am not a committer, I am trying to handle the updates through several patches. In the next patch, soon, (related with ldpath integration and contenthub interface) STANBOL-440 will be resolved.

The author of the JAWS said that there is no license for the tool, shall we request him to put a license for the tool?

Interesting - what is the license if there is no license? Can we have a dependency to something without license?

Best would be to ask the author to state that this tool is under Apache License, 2.0 and we are fine.

It is simple not true that this lib does not use a license. Every single source file within the source archive downloadable from [1] states the following license

This looks rather compatible to the Apache License, 2.0 for me, but someone with real knowledge in such matters should conform this.

            best
