Expose abstract DataTypes for DataFrames

    Description

      It would be nice to have access to the abstract DataTypes used in DataFrame schema. E.g., it would be useful to be able to test whether a type is numeric, rather than testing a list of current numeric types.

      This may require waiting for the DataFrame API to become non-Experimental.
