This ticket: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-17022 seems to have cause some performance degradation when matching glob patterns to fields as noted in this thread: https://lists.apache.org/thread/vbwnjxprl6s1qy0t1jzfcw8hprg1gvzh.
