Description

Apache SIS is developed in 3 branches with the following version numbers:

• master has version 1.0-SNAPSHOT
• geoapi-3.1 branch has version dev-1.0-SNAPSHOT
• geoapi-4.0 branch also has version dev-1.0-SNAPSHOT

Having two branches with the same version number is confusing. Furthermore those numbers said nothing about the targeted version numbers for the release of those branches. The proposal discussed on the mailing list is:

• geoapi-3.1 branch uses version 1.x-SNAPSHOT
• geoapi-4.0 branch uses version 2.0-SNAPSHOT
