For the record, we could consider implementing JSR-223 based scripting bridge portlet:

Woonsan Ko added a comment - For the record, we could consider implementing JSR-223 based scripting bridge portlet: JSR-223, Scripting for the JavaTM Platform, enables to have a transparent solution for most script languages. JSR-223 is supported in Java 1.6+, but it seems possible to use it with Java 1.5 by adding a dependency on javax.script:script-api:1.0:jar. Apache Camel already has an implementation with JSR-223 to support BeanShell, JavaScript, Groovy, Python, PHP and Ruby. ( See http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/camel/trunk/components/camel-script/src/main/java/org/apache/camel/builder/script/ScriptBuilder.java )

Added a JSR-223 based generic script support bridge portlet with test cases integrated with groovy, jruby, jython, beanshell or rhino.
