[OFBIZ-10560] adding variant product to cart is failing

Description

When I try to add the "Giant Widget with variant explosion" to the cart on
http://demo-old.ofbiz.apache.org:28080/ecommerce/giant-widget-with-variant-explosion-WG-9943-p or
https://demo-trunk.ofbiz.apache.org/ecomseo/product/Giant-Widget-with-variant-explosion-WG-9943.html the next page (additem) shows only a drop down list (Select Unit Of Measure) and the item is not added to the cart.
Same on my respective local installations.
