Description

It'd be good to move forward from current outdated Lucene and Solr versions (both tied at 4.7.1) to be able to leverage new index formats (performance) and other interesting improvements (see also talk by Uwe Schindler at bbuzz 2015 and Lucidworks blogpost).
This however would require moving to Java 7 as Lucene / Solr dropped support for Java 6 since version 4.8.0.
