Description

Problem

• Several bug fixes etc. and issues have been fixed for maven-compiler-plugin since 3.5.1 in particular related to JDK8, JDK9+ etc.

Goal

• Upgrade to maven-compiler-plugin 3.8.1

This will make it easy to test builds on JDK9, JDK10, JDK11, JDK12 and JDK13
