Switch for turning off transitive dependencies

    Description

      It would be nice to have a simple switch to turn off transitive dependencies for a project completly. This would speed up and simplify the build for complex projects. The current solution is to add a huge list of excludes for each dependency which is very difficult to maintain, especially when the poms of the dependencies change.
