On the http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-assembly-plugin/examples/multimodule/module-binary-inclusion-simple.html page there is missing tag <plugins> between <build> and <plugin> in third snippet (one that goes to distribution module's pom.xml), which results in XML validation failure by maven.
