    Description

      The caching infrastructure is currently too tightly bound to the concrete caching backend (in the current development branch Infinispan). Caching should be implemented in a more modular, pluggable way so that depending on different scenarios different backends can be used. In the most simple case, caching should be done using a simple in-memory cache (e.g. Guava).
