      Description

Curt added the comment to several methods in my branch. This comment needs more elaboration on how the "container" should start and stop the components without requiring those components to implement an interface. Is the suggestion meant to imply that there should be a Lifecycle interface that the interfaces in question extend?

Gary, with the recent changes you have made can this be closed now?

For RC-2, the LifeCyle types have been expanded (possibly even completed) and used in more places.
