Description

KAFKA-8474 changed the layout of configuration options on the website from a table which over time ran out of horizontal space to a list.
This vastly improved readability but is not yet ideal. Further discussion was had in the PR for KAFKA-8474.
This ticket is to move that discussion to a separate thread and make it more visible to other people and to give subsequent PRs a home.

Currently proposed options are attached to this issue.
