      Description

I cannot override the default decorator.vm in my portlet decorator. Although the file is created in my decorator's home, the default one is still used for rendering portlets.

Try naming your resource header.vm, not decorator.vm
        That should work

In case of a plotle (not layout)t decorator? It doesn't work, anyway The comment in the default decorator.vm states:

This is the default template to be used for rendering decorations. If you
find you cannot accomplish your design requirements by defining a custom
style sheet for your decoration, you can define your own decorator.vm in
the root of your decortaion. This will be used instead of the default.

It should be: "In case of a portlet (not layout) decorator"...

        With layout decorators, use header.vm
        With portlet decorators, use decorator.vm

I tested this again tonight, still can't reproduce the bug
Im sorry but it WFM on svn trunk
