Description

Ozone file handle caching support was added in IMPALA-10214 but disabled by default initially.  Subsequent performance testing with TPC-DS at 10TB scale has shown that enabling Ozone file handle caching improves TPC-DS geomean query time by 10%.  The cache_ozone_file_handles parameter should be enabled by default.
