all calls are fortified with "isInTest" guards to avoid testing those calls (!@#$#)

this causes some wierd behaviour:
out of the box hive installation creates TRANSLATED_TO_EXTERNAL external tables for plain CREATE TABLE commands
meanwhile during when most testing is executed CREATE table creates regular MANAGED tables...
