Description

There are quite a lot of redundancy, and unused code that is there because it is defined by the CertificateClient, or it was easier to implement this way earlier when the interface and functionality evolved.

The aim here is to simply get rid of the easily replaceable/refactorable methods and logic, and reduce the interface as much as possible.
