    Description

      The motivation of introducing the HardLink operation/api in HDFS is to get a full copy of the file without copying the bytes.
      So users/applications can create multiple hard links to the same source file instantly.

      And HBase can make full use of the hard-link to generate the in-cluster backup snapshot instantly.
