Description

The initial backport work of the parent issue to 0.98 was more difficult than I expected. 0.98 uses Hadoop's HttpServer whereas >=1.x uses a copied variant of that HttpServer class (that has significantly diverged since the copy).

Initial testing showed problems with the default configuration – need to figure out what the difference is between the two (or just not backport this to 0.98).
