    Description

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see an easy way to work with some sort of global variables.
I mean defining variables that can be accessed in all child components in the component the variables are defined.
The only way I see to work with setting or environment variables (for instance settings like the number of records on a page or the accessrights of a user) are to put those variables in an object and passing this object to all childs that need the information. This is rather cumbersome.
It would be nice to be able to define variables as module or component scope or something like that.

P.S.: putting the vars in shared objects is not what I mean; I don't want to save them, just use them in child components
