    Description

      Currently, following Hive data types are supported in Drill for querying: BOOLEAN, BYTE, SHORT, INT, LONG, FLOAT, DOUBLE, DATE, TIMESTAMP, BINARY, DECIMAL, STRING, and VARCHAR.

      Above is a subset of hive data type. To be able to support all hive data types, Drill needs to add support for the following: i
      TINYINT, SMALLINT, BIGINT, CHAR, STRUCT, MAP, ARRAY, UNION
