Description
We provide java jar convenience binaries.
Some people have been asking for a podman container version of daffodil as a standard "convenience".
The requirements for exactly how this container would work, i.e., what services it would provide by what means, is all TBD, but I am creating this ticket as a placeholder for the idea as a place to discuss the desirability (or not) of this idea, etc.
I think of this as sort of like the Daffodil CLI.
The container would provide a number of canned ways to use Daffodil by way of reading some configuration and then providing specific services. E.g., one such configuration might instruct the container to consume data items from a POSIX message queue, and parse them to JSON/XML/Other. Another configuration might read messages one by one from a TCP connection, and produce individual messages (parsed into XML say) to a output POSIX message queue.
