The document "Android Plugins" http://cordova.apache.org/docs/en/3.1.0/guide_platforms_android_plugin.md.html#Android%20Plugins says

Use the Source
One of the best ways to prepare yourself to write your own plugin is to look over existing plugins.

but the hyperlink in that text is to the git source directory to where plugins used to be in v2.9, not where they are now...
