Description

CASSANDRA-8692 introduced intra-cluster message coalescing, but it requires experimentation and prior knowledge of cluster behaviour to tune this effectively, and it can have positive impact on some workloads, with negative on others. It should be possible to have the cluster auto-tune the behaviour to some extent, incrementally tweaking the coalesce windows based on the result of prior modifications. This should help it find near optimal parameters for each different level of load the cluster experiences.
