Description

When built on JDK 9, some features method calls become broken on JDK 8 such as ByteBuffer.flip() or CharBuffer.position(int).  We need to protect against those problems using something similar to [https://github.com/gnodet/mvnd/blob/master/src/main/java/org/jboss/fuse/mvnd/daemon/BufferCaster.java]
