Stevo Slavic Stevo, we routinely use same fix and affected version IDs for cases where the bug was introduces during a development cycle of a particular release. How else would you mark an issue like that?

OK clear, still I don't think this one qualifies as bug, IMO it's new feature, or improvement of existing one. Same goes for linked BIGTOP-883.

Do these issues qualify for updating of hadoop java versions table?

Feel free to update the page with details on versions you've built and tested against -including anything relevant about OS + cluster size. The bigger the cluster, the more the chance of obscure bugs and race conditions surfacing, which is why that list shows who is (publicly) happy with which version.

Someone should check what java version Amazon EMR uses and list that too

It seems Java 7 support is not yet there in Amazon EMR: https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?messageID=448669
