Description

I wanted to propose that we backport HADOOP-12366 at the Bigtop level.

The patch is trivial enough so it shouldn't be any trouble AND it gets us closer to upcoming Hadoop 3 (in terms of cmd line behaviour).

On top of that upstream Hadoop community doesn't really favor releases from branch-2 that much it seems so seeing it in the official release is not much on an option.
