      Description

Now that we are adding Amazon Linux to a list of supported platforms, it would be nice to be able to run AL image on a VM outside Amazon cloud (e.g. for testing on my laptop). It would be nice if somebody (Amazon folks?) posted instructions on how to get this image

In fact, the steps appear to be clearly spelled in the page you linked above. If you already followed the steps and they work fine, I believe we can resolve this.

Thanks Rob. As you mentioned, a good way to close this JIRA is to post exact steps on how to do this export. I still don't have access to Wiki. Can you post the steps here?

We can use the VM import/export tools with EC2 to make this happen: http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/vm-import/

Definitely would be very helpful to get an ISO or a KVM image that can be easily added to test matrix (or a person's laptop).
