Description
Currently the .auroraversion can only be set by a new commit or by the rc script increment it. To allow for easier editing of the version string we should support an override.
example: if .auroraversion is set to 0.7.1-SNAPSHOT and we want to release 0.8.0 there is now mechanism to allow for this, the current script will try and release 0.7.1, so we have to do a single commit to up the .auroraversion to 0.8.0 and then run the release-candidate script to create the 0.8.0-rc0 and update .auroraversion to 0.8.1-SNAPSHOT.
