Revert ATLAS-2668 for the 1.0 branch as per review https://reviews.apache.org/r/67060/#comment285318

 

We could revert the entire fix, however the simplest minimum change is to remove the reference to the assembly from the distro pom. This means that the binary is not placed into the distro directory, though the jar with dependencies is still built in the component directory, and the assembly xml file will still exist in distro.

If we need to revert the entire fix please comment here and I'll update with a new patch
