Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 99390
AutoCorrect replacement list shows wrong language at first
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:15:53 UTC
In using the Tools|AutoCorrect feature I don't seem to be able to create my own custom rules that work. (The first ones I tried were %phi to φ these didn't work so I tested aar to argh and this didn't work either. The included ones did however) Here is what I did: 1. I have input the replace and with fields, pressed new. 2. I checked these appeared in the table below. 3. I clicked on OK typed the replace characters and this didn't work 4. It works with the included list that OpenOffice came with but not any custom ones I add. Initially the program informed me an autocorrect change had been made (even though it wasn't) however this pop-up has stopped happening. Any help or suggestion of possible conflicts would be great as I assume this is not a bug or a lot more people would be screaming. Cheers, Ian
I also saw the problem - but it was because my text was German and when I opened the Autocorrect options, the replacement list of "English" was shown and edited by me... MRU->TL: when opening the Autocorrect options, the replacement list of the language of the "Default" style should be shown, IMO... as you can see, it is misleading.
TL->OS: Since it is auto-correction, please take over. Thanks!

Cheers mru. That is my problem with the language difference as well.
@OS: I'm currently working with cedricbosdo on a spec about the language depedency and context sensitiveness of the AutoCorrect Options. (See: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/AutoCorrect_Options_-_Localized_Options) (I mean, if you'd like to start working on this issue "tommorrow" ;))) don't overlook we are already working on it!) Parts of the spec will be implemented for OOo 3.3 but the part this issue addresses will be postponed to 3.x. In that context I think the current issue would be duplicate of issue 42065. What do you think?
