OpenOffice Improvement program: Gather information on Help usage
Last modified: 2010-08-15 10:07:19 UTC
it should be possible to gather information on Help usage. - How was Help called? F1, Help button, Help menu, Toolbar button? - Which module was called? Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math, Base, Basic, Chart? - Which tab of Help Viewer was used? Contents, Index, Find, Bookmarks? - If Contents tab, which entry was double-clicked? - If Index tab, which Index entry was double-clicked? - If Find tab, which Search word(s) were entered?

considered issue for cws oooimprovement6, however there are too many issues with this issue (which is actually a whole set of issues): "How was Help called? F1, Help button, Help menu, Toolbar button?" That distinction is not easily made in general with the current architecture. It would need to be manually coded in everywhere. Help is no exception there. "Which module was called? Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math, Base, Basic, Chart?" already logged => WORKSFORME "Which tab of Help Viewer was used? Contents, Index, Find, Bookmarks?" already logged => WORKSFORME "If Contents tab, which entry was double-clicked? If Index tab, which Index entry was double-clicked? If Find tab, which Search word(s) were entered?" logging that might cause privacy issues. closing as WONTFIX.
