Description stefanwag 2008-11-09 18:16:07 UTC
High!
I'd like to embed a picture in a sun report builder-report. There I can define
the path to the image absolutely, like "D:\KiKenTai\kikentai_logo.gif". But on
different pc's there are different drives attached. So I would like to define
the path to the image with relative definition, e. g. "..\kikentai_logo.gif".
The relative path should start at the location of the database file, in this
case "D:\KiKenTai\datenbank\kikentai.odb". So, combining "D:\KiKenTai\datenbank
\kikentai.odb" and "..\kikentai_logo.gif", the result should be "D:\KiKenTai
\kikentai_logo.gif".
Thanks for all
Stefan

It's a duplicate one.

I'm closing it now.

High oj,

I don't think this is a duplicate to 77831. Issue 77831 deals with embedding
versus linking. This issue talks about absolute and relative paths. Are you
sure this issue is solved? I don't think so. Another reason for my opinion: The
newest version of sun report builder doesn't allow relative paths. Please
consider the status of this issue and decide about reopening.

Kind regards from Germany

Stfean

I reopen this issue. Relatively linked are not described in the other issue.
Sorry for this misinterpreting.

Comment 7 ocke.janssen 2009-02-02 11:51:54 UTC
After looking at the problem I noticed that this is a defect. Relative paths in
the report should already be stored.

Fixed in cws dba32a

Please verify. Thanks.
Comment 9 marc.neumann 2009-04-14 13:04:47 UTC
With this fix we use the setting at
TOOLS - OPTIONS - LOAD/SAVE - GENERAL - Save URL relative to file system
to save any URL.

So you can save the path relative or absolute.

set to verified.

Checked w/ DEV300_m49, SRB 1.1.0 (Ubuntu Jaunty 64bit)

TOOLS - OPTIONS - LOAD/SAVE - GENERAL - Save URL relative to file system
to save any URL

seems to make no difference the URL is never relative.

Tried to enter a proper relative URL by hand and it was not accepted the field
in the property editor just blanks out.

I tested with version ooo 3.1.0 and sun report builder 1.1.0. Entering a path
for a graphics file the input is deleted on leaving the input field. Entering a
filename is only possible by using the button right of the input field. The
file selection box starts at any path (e. g. c:\temp\sv8ba.tmp), so it's not
possible to enter a relative path. This is the same behavior in the sun report
builder and open office itself.

fs->atjensen: Did you look into the UI or the file? Actually, the bug was about
*saving* the path relatively, not about displaying it. Displaying it relatively
would be inconsistent with all other places in OOo, AFAIK.

atjensen->fs Sorry, I should have remembered that.

Checked w/ DEV300_m49, SRB 1.1.0, XP

TOOLS - OPTIONS - LOAD/SAVE - GENERAL - Save URL relative to file system
to save any URL

is honored and when true the saved path in the file is relative.

atjensen -> stefanwag I did verify that I coule enter a graphic file selection
directly by typing into the property editor - BUT - the entry must be a fully
qualified path, not a relative path.
