Description mrr 2008-10-07 08:59:28 UTC
Main bullets and some of the sub level bullets are not imported correctly from a
Word 97-2000 doc file. They and their distance to te text show up as an arc.

In the past versions of OpenOffice I know this type of import errors also
occured. Regretfully this is one of the main causes why I cannot use this
software for my customers. (If they see things like this, for them it is a
confirmation that they can't switch to OO).
Comment 1 mrr 2008-10-07 09:26:54 UTC
Main bullets and some of the lower level (indented) bullets are not imported
correctly.
Together with the space between the bullet and the text they show up as an arc.

This is not the first release with imported bullets are not correct. Regretfully
"simple" things like this are the cause that I don't really dare to move to OO
from MS Word when I'm working of documents of my clients. If they see things
like this going wrong they don't even try anymore...
I just tell to let you know that simple things like this should have a much
higher priority than starting up high level features that only very advanced
users use.

Success!

Bullets seem to turn into F0B6 or F0B7 in MT Extra. Can someone at least explain how the mapping is
done so I can adjust either the mapping or the fonts? This problem has been present in every version of
OpenOffice. I agree with the original report. Bullets are one of the most common formatting features. Any
word processor that can't handle them properly hardly seems worth further investigation. Unfortunately I
have to be able to exchange documents with MS Word.

I'm reasonably experienced at creating and editing fonts. If you need a help in preparing an appropriate
font, please feel free to ask.

Mrr, could you please attach a short sample document where the Bullets show up
incorrect? Thanks for your help!

In the mean time I switched from RC3 to the final release. The problem still exists.

Ah, I see, this is already covered by issue 92011.
