- Insert two slides

As discussed. Changed target to 3.1 and assigned to CL.

Please provide a spec (update). Requested behaviour is unclear. Arrow up/down
moves viewport in edit view. Page up/down switches to previous/next slide in
both edit view and slide sorter bar.
Comment 5 christian.jansen 2008-11-19 16:04:45 UTC
* Arrow UP/DOWN, LEFT/RIGHT switches to next, respectively previous slide
(even if the focus is in edit view)

* Page UP/DOWN switches to next, respectively previous slide
(even if the focus is in edit view)

* Space + UP/DOWN, LEFT/RIGHT moves viewport in edit view.

Arrows also move the current selection in the edit view. Is this really to
provide a second set of keys?

Arrows ware also used to change focus if the focus is inside a pane/toolbar/tab
control/etc.

I would say -1 to this 'enhancement'. Page Up/Down give 100% Keyboard
accessibility here.

On a second node 'Space + Arrow Up/Down' is not possible, I'm sure you mean
'Shift + ' ?

Which is ok and must not change. If an object is selected it is a different
"mode", or context.

Which is somehow strange from my point of view. I can't see a real need for
this. Which is the exact benefit. Which problem solves the feature that one can
change the focus but not the slide? Multi selection of slide by using the
keyboard should be possible by "Shift ARROW UP/DOWN"

This is not true. Some Keyboards e.g. Notebooks like the MacBook do not have
Page Up/Down keys

Why is space not possible? Using "Space" for panning is pretty common usage for
Graphic tools.

Without focus traveling with the arrow keys, toolbars and panes are not keyboard
accessible.

Space + Arrow Keys does not work as Space is not a 'modify key'. Thats like
saying 'Press Q + W to do something'. Also space will start text editing like
any other 'text' key.

currently STRG + Arrow keys moves the viewport, even if something is selected.
So I would propose to use this instead of SHIFT since SHIFT also moves the
selection faster with the Arrow keys...

@CJ: I think that we agreed that this change needs more thought and some sort of
written documentation. One of the (many) problems, is that the focus navigation
of the slide sorter (bar) is affected by this change but is necessary for
accessibility.
Comment 12 Martin Hollmichel 2008-12-10 11:03:01 UTC
move to next target due to limited time frame for 3.1
Comment 13 frank.loehmann 2009-10-15 13:02:23 UTC
set usability keyword.
