In the page style/sheet dialog it is possible to define the total number of pages that will be used for printing.
For large sheets it would be easier to define the total number of horizontal (or vertical) pages without defining/limiting the other direction.
In Excel (sorry for this comparison) it is possible to fit the sheet to "x pages width by y pages tall".
