Description jameswilkinson 2007-03-07 11:36:16 UTC
If you open a CSV file with more than 255 records in one row (too many columns)
you get a message saying "The maximum number of rows has been exceeded. Excess
rows were not imported!"

It *should* say
"The maximum number of columns has been exceeded. Excess columns were not imported!"
(or, of course, just import the thing and support a reasonable number of columns!)

Hi Niklas,

we should extend the Messagebox to show Rows or Columns exceeding ...

OK, now the limit is 1024 rather than 255 but this issue is still alive. So I'm
adding the same testfile but with 1025 columns.

I still see this bug in version 3.3.0 [OOO330m20 (Build:9567) on WinXP].

Still a bug in OpenOffice.org 3.4.0
on Mac OS X Lion

if "the limit is 1024" then, IMHO, error should say
"The maximum number of columns (1024) has been exceeded."

Resolved in LibreOffice 3.6:
